Doon Well in Termon is a holy well that many claim to have healing properties. It is located beneath Doon Rock where the O Donnell kings of Donegal were crowned right up to the final and famous Red Hugh O Donnell in the late 1500’s. Not far from the well you will also find a mass rock used during Penal times when Catholics and priests were banned by the English of attending mass. The mass rock is in a remote hidden location that also gave great views of any would be “Sasanach ” attackers. Doon Well is also the birthplace of my mother, Annie.
